We live in a world dominated by blissful ignorance.<\/p>\n

And we tolerate\u00a0poor quality services by lowering our\u00a0expectation.<\/p>\n

And then one day we get a shock …<\/p>\n

… we\u00a0have an experience that disproves\u00a0our hypothesis of impossibility. Just one. One is enough.<\/p>\n

\n

And our usual reaction is then some form of denial.<\/p>\n

Usually\u00a0we say “That is not true, it’s a fluke!<\/em>” or we say “That is OK for you but I could\u00a0never do it<\/em>.”<\/p>\n

But\u00a0not always.\u00a0 Sometimes we say\u00a0“Can you show me another example and show me\u00a0how to do it<\/em>?”<\/p>\n

And then we try ourselves … and then we get another shock.\u00a0 It actually works! We can<\/strong> do it.<\/p>\n

\n

So now we are engaged … and when we try again,\u00a0we\u00a0make a right fist of it.\u00a0 Another shock!\u00a0 We need to “do some”. Practice makes perfect … if we do enough of it.<\/p>\n

So we do … easier examples at \u00a0first then progressively more challenging ones.<\/p>\n

We improve progressively … we progress … we develop know how … we develop competence … we develop confidence … and we start to\u00a0grow a reputation.<\/p>\n

And soon we are rewarded\u00a0by being\u00a0invited to teach others\u00a0what we know.<\/p>\n

\n

And then we get another shock … the biggest of all … we\u00a0no longer know how we are doing it … we have practiced so much and for so long that it has become second nature.<\/p>\n

This is the toughest stage\u00a0of all and this is where we learn the most.<\/p>\n

When we teach others what\u00a0is second nature to us … we learn more than they do<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n

10% of learning is in seeing others do it .<\/p>\n

20% of learning is\u00a0in doing it ourselves.<\/p>\n

70% of learning is in teaching and coaching others to learn how to do it.<\/p>\n

See One – Do Some – Teach Many.<\/p>\n
