The symptoms are\u00a0easy to\u00a0detect &#8211; and the easiest way is to close your eyes and listen to the language being used. There is a characteristic vocabulary.\u00a0 <em>&#8216;Yes but&#8217;<\/em> is common as is <em>&#8216;If only&#8217;<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>&#8216;They should&#8217;<\/em> and <em>&#8216;Not my&#8217; <\/em>and <em>&#8216;Too busy&#8217;<\/em>.\u00a0 Hearing these phrases used frequently is good evidence that the subject is suffering from\u00a0<em>Victimosis<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Everyone suffers from <em>Acute Victimosis<\/em> occasionally, especially if they are tired and suffer a series of emotional set backs.\u00a0 With the support of relatives and friends\u00a0our psychoimmune system is able to combat the cause and return\u00a0us to healthy normality. We are normally able to heal our emotional wounds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Unfortunately <em>Victimosis<\/em> is an infectious and highly contagious\u00a0condition and with a large enough innoculum it can spread until almost everyone in the organisation is\u00a0affected to some degree.\u00a0\u00a0When this happens the Victimosis behaviour can become the norm\u00a0and awareness of the symptoms slips from consciousness.\u00a0Victimosis\u00a0then becomes the unspoken dominant culture and\u00a0the transition to the\u00a0<em>Chronic Victimosis <\/em>phase is complete.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.improvementscience.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/dna_magnifying_glass_150_wht_8959.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2608\" src=\"http:\/\/www.improvementscience.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/dna_magnifying_glass_150_wht_8959.gif\" alt=\"dna_magnifying_glass_150_wht_8959\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hcse.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/dna_magnifying_glass_150_wht_8959.gif 150w, https:\/\/hcse.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/dna_magnifying_glass_150_wht_8959-100x100.gif 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>Research has shown that Victimosis\u00a0is an acquired\u00a0disease linked to a <em>transmissable meme<\/em> that is picked up early in life. The meme can\u00a0be transmitted\u00a0person-to-person and also through mass communication systems which then leads to rapid dissemination. Typical channels are newspapers,\u00a0television,\u00a0the internet and now social media.\u00a0\u00a0Just sample the daily news and\u00a0observe how much Victimosis\u00a0language is in circulation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Those more susceptible to infection\u00a0can develop into chronic carriers\u00a0who constantly infect and reinfect others.\u00a0 The outward mainfestations\u00a0of the chronic form are incessant complaining, criticising, irrational\u00a0decisions, ineffective actions, blaming\u00a0and eventually depression, hopelessness\u00a0and terminal despair.\u00a0 The chronically infected may aggregate into like-minded groups\u00a0as a safety-in-numbers reflex response.\u00a0 These groups are characterised\u00a0\u00a0by having a high proportion\u00a0of people with the same temperament; particularly the Guardian preference (the Supervisors, Inspectors, Providers and Protectors who make up two thirds of the population).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Those able to resist infection find the context and culture toxic and they take action. They leave.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The outward manifestations of Chronic Victimosis are GroupThink and Silosis.\u00a0 GroupThink is where collectives start to behave as one and their group-rhetoric becomes progressively less varied and more dogmatic. Silosis is a form of organisational tribalism where Departments become separated from each other, conceptually, emotionally, physically and financially. Both natural reactions only aggravate the condition and accelerate the decline.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.improvementscience.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/patient_stumbling_with_bandages_150_wht_6861.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2609\" src=\"http:\/\/www.improvementscience.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/patient_stumbling_with_bandages_150_wht_6861.gif\" alt=\"patient_stumbling_with_bandages_150_wht_6861\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hcse.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/patient_stumbling_with_bandages_150_wht_6861.gif 150w, https:\/\/hcse.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/patient_stumbling_with_bandages_150_wht_6861-100x100.gif 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>One of the effects of the Victimosis-meme is <em>Agnostic Hyper-Reactivity<\/em>. This is where\u00a0both the\u00a0Individuals and their Silos develop a thick emotional protective membrane\u00a0that distorts their perception.\u00a0 It is not that they do not sense what is happening &#8211; it is that they do not\u00a0perceive it or that they perceive it in a distorted way.\u00a0 This is the Agnosia part &#8211; literally &#8216;not knowing&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Unfortunately\u00a0being ignorant of Reality does not help\u00a0and eventually the pressure of Reality builds up and punches\u00a0a hole through the emotional barrier.\u00a0 Something exceptionally bad happens that cannot be discounted\u00a0or ignored.\u00a0This is the &#8216;<strong>crisis<\/strong>&#8216; stage and it elicits a characteristic\u00a0reflex reaction. An emotional knee-jerk.\u00a0Unfortunately the\u00a0reflex is an over-reaction and is poorly focussed and badly\u00a0coordinated &#8211; so it does\u00a0more\u00a0harm than good.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This is the hyper-reactivity part.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The\u00a0blind reflex\u00a0reaction further destabilises an already unstable situation and accelerates the decline.\u00a0 It creates a positive feedback loop that can quickly escalate to verbal, written\u00a0and then psychological and physical conflict. The\u00a0Lose-Lose-Lose\u00a0of Self-Destructive behaviour that is characteristic of the late phase.\u00a0 And that is not all.\u00a0 Over time the reflex reaction gets less effective as the Victimosis Membrane thickens. The reflex fades out.\u00a0 This is a dangerous development because on the surface it looks like things are improving, there is less conflict, but in reality the patient is slipping into pre-terminal Victimosis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Fortunately there is a treatment for Victimosis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">It is called <strong>Positivicillin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.improvementscience.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/herbal_supplement_400_wht_8492.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2607\" src=\"http:\/\/www.improvementscience.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/herbal_supplement_400_wht_8492.png\" alt=\"herbal_supplement_400_wht_8492\" width=\"157\" height=\"98\" \/><\/a>This is not a new wonder drug, it is a natural product.\u00a0We all\u00a0produce\u00a0<em>Positivicillin<\/em> and some\u00a0of us\u00a0produce more than others:\u00a0they are called Optimists.\u00a0\u00a0<em>Positivicillin<\/em> works by\u00a0channelling the flow of emotional energy into the reflection-and-action pathways. Naturally occurring <em>Positivicillin<\/em> has a long-half life: the warm glow of\u00a0success lasts a long time.\u00a0 Unfortunately <em>Positivicillin<\/em>\u00a0is irreversibly deactivated\u00a0by the emotional toxin generated by the Victimosis meme: a toxin called <em>Discountin<\/em>.\u00a0So in the presence of <em>Discountin<\/em>\u00a0the affected person needs to\u00a0generate more <em>Positivicillin<\/em> and to do so continuously and this leads to emotional exhaustion. The diffusion of <em>Positivicillin<\/em> is impeded by the Victimosis Membrane\u00a0so if subject has a severe case of Chronic Victimosis then they may need extrinsic <em>Positivicillin<\/em> treatment at high dose and for a long time to prevent terminal decline. The primary goal of emergency treatment is to\u00a0neutralise the excess <em>Discountin<\/em> for long enough that the natural production of <em>Positivicillin<\/em> can start to work.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">So where can\u00a0we get supplies of extrinsic <em>Positivicillin<\/em> from?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In its pure form\u00a0<em>Positivicillin<\/em> is rare and expensive.\u00a0 The\u00a0number of naturally occurring Eternal Optimist Exporters is small and their collective\u00a0<em>Positivicillin<\/em>\u00a0production capability is\u00a0limited. Healthy organisations value and attract them; unhealthy ones discount and reject them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.improvementscience.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/wine_toast_pc_400_wht_4449.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2610\" src=\"http:\/\/www.improvementscience.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/wine_toast_pc_400_wht_4449.png\" alt=\"wine_toast_pc_400_wht_4449\" width=\"176\" height=\"137\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.improvementscience.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/no_smoking_400_wht_6805.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2611 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.improvementscience.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/no_smoking_400_wht_6805.png\" alt=\"no_smoking_400_wht_6805\" width=\"138\" height=\"144\" \/><\/a>So we are forced to resort to using more abundant, cheaper\u00a0but inferior drugs.\u00a0 One is called <em>Alcoholimycin<\/em> and another is <em>Tobaccomycin<\/em>.\u00a0 They are\u00a0both widely available and\u00a0affordable but they have long term irreversible toxic side effects.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Chronic Victimosis is endemic so chronic abuse of <em>Tobaccomycin<\/em> and <em>Alcoholimycin<\/em> is common and, in an attempt to restrict\u00a0their negative\u00a0long term effects, both drugs are heavily taxed by the Authorities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Unfortunately this only aggravates the spread of Chronic Victimosis which some report is\u00a0a sign of the same condition affecting the Authorties! These radicals are calling for de-regulation of the more potent variants such a <em>Cannabisimycin<\/em> but the Authorities\u00a0have opted\u00a0for a tightly regulated supply of symptom-suppressants such as <em>Anxiolytin<\/em> and <em>Antidepressin<\/em>. These are now freely available and do help those who want to learn to cure themselves.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The long term\u00a0goal of the Victimosis Research Council is to develop ways to produce pure <em>Positivicillin<\/em> and to treat the\u00a0most severe cases of Chronic Victimosis; and to find ways to boost the natural production of\u00a0<em>Positivicillin<\/em> within less seriously affected individuals and organisations.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Chronic Victimosis is not a new disease &#8211;\u00a0it has been described in various forms throughout recorded history &#8211; so the search for a cure starts with the historical treatments &#8211; one of which\u00a0is <em>Confessmycin<\/em>. This has been\u00a0used for centuries and appears to work well for some but not others\u00a0and this idiosyncratic\u00a0response is believed to be due to\u00a0the presence (or not) of the Rel-1-Gion meme. Active dissemination of a range of Rel-1-Gion meme variants (and the closely linked Pol-1-Tic meme variants) has been tried with considerable success but does not appear to be a viable long term option.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">A recent\u00a0high-tech approach is called a <em>Twimplant<\/em>.\u00a0 This is an example of the <em>Social-Media<\/em> class of biopsychosocial feedback\u00a0loops that uses the now ubiquitous mobiphonic\u00a0symbiont\u00a0to connect the individual to a regular\u00a0supply of positive support, ideas and\u00a0evidence called\u00a0<em>P-Tweets<\/em>.\u00a0 It is important to tune the <em>Twimplant<\/em> correctly because the same device can also pick up distress signals broadcast by sufferers of Chronic Victimosis who are attempting to\u00a0dilute their\u00a0<em>Discountin<\/em> by digitising it and\u00a0exporting it to everyone else. These are called <em>N-Tweets<\/em> and are easily identifiable by their Victimosis vocabulary. <em>N-tweets<\/em>\u00a0can be avoided by adopting an Unfollow policy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.improvementscience.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/heart_puzzle_piece_missing_pa_150_wht_4829.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2612\" src=\"http:\/\/www.improvementscience.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/heart_puzzle_piece_missing_pa_150_wht_4829.gif\" alt=\"heart_puzzle_piece_missing_pa_150_wht_4829\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hcse.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/heart_puzzle_piece_missing_pa_150_wht_4829.gif 150w, https:\/\/hcse.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/heart_puzzle_piece_missing_pa_150_wht_4829-100x100.gif 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>One promising line of new research is called <em>R2LM probe<\/em> therapy.\u00a0 This is an unconventional and innovative way of\u00a0curing Chronic Victimosis. The <em>R2LM probe<\/em> is designed to identify the gaps in the organisational memetic code and to guide delivery of specific meme transplants that fill\u00a0the gaps it reveals. One common gap is called the <em>OM-meme<\/em> deletion and\u00a0one effective treatment for this is called FISH. Taking a course of FISH injections or using a FISH\u00a0immersion technique leads to a rapid and sustained improvement in emotional\u00a0balance.\u00a0\u00a0That\u00a0in-turn leads to an increase in the natural production of <em>Positivicillin<\/em>. From that point on the individual and can dissolve the Victimosis Membrance and correct their perceptual distortion. The treatment is sometimes uncomfortable but those who\u00a0completed the course\u00a0will vouch for its effectiveness.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">For the milder forms of\u00a0Victimosis\u00a0it is possible to self-diagnose and to self-treat.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The\u00a0strategy here is to actively reduce the production of <em>Discountin<\/em>\u00a0and to boost the natural production of <em>Positivicillin<\/em>. These have a synergistic effect.\u00a0The first\u00a0step is to practice listening\u00a0for the\u00a0Victimosis vocabulary using a list of common phrases.\u00a0 The patient is taught\u00a0to listen for\u00a0these in spoken communication and to look for them in written communication. Spoken communication includes their Internal Voice. The commonest phrases are:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left; padding-left: 30px;\">1. &#8220;Yes but &#8230;&#8221;<br \/>\n2. &#8220;If only\u00a0 &#8230;&#8221;<br \/>\n3. &#8220;I\/You\/We\/They should &#8230;&#8221;<br \/>\n4.\u00a0&#8220;I\/We can&#8217;t &#8230;&#8221;<br \/>\n5. &#8220;I\/We hope &#8230;&#8221;<br \/>\n6. &#8220;Not My\/Our fault &#8230;&#8221;<br \/>\n7. &#8220;Constant struggle &#8230;&#8221;<br \/>\n8. &#8220;I\/We do not know &#8230;&#8221;<br \/>\n9. &#8220;I am too busy to &#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The negative emotional impact of these phrases is caused by the presence of the <em>Discountin<\/em> toxin.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The second step is to substitute the contaminated phrase with an equivalent one where the <em>Discountin<\/em> is deactivated\u00a0using <em>Positivicillin<\/em>. This deliberate and conscious substitution is easiest in written communication, then externally spoken and finally the Internal Voice. The replacements for the above are &#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left; padding-left: 30px;\">1.\u00a0&#8220;Yes, and &#8230;&#8221;<br \/>\n2. &#8220;Next time &#8230;&#8221;<br \/>\n3. &#8220;I\/We could &#8230;&#8221;<br \/>\n4. &#8220;I\/We can &#8230;&#8221;<br \/>\n5. &#8220;I\/We know &#8230;&#8221;<br \/>\n6. &#8220;My\/Our responsibility &#8230;&#8221;<br \/>\n7. &#8220;Endless opportunity &#8230;&#8221;<br \/>\n8. &#8220;I\/We will learn &#8230;&#8221;<br \/>\n9. &#8220;It is too important not to &#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.improvementscience.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/figure_check_mark_celebrate_anim_150_wht_36171.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2140\" src=\"http:\/\/www.improvementscience.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/figure_check_mark_celebrate_anim_150_wht_36171.gif\" alt=\"figure_check_mark_celebrate_anim_150_wht_3617\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hcse.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/figure_check_mark_celebrate_anim_150_wht_36171.gif 150w, https:\/\/hcse.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/figure_check_mark_celebrate_anim_150_wht_36171-100x100.gif 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>The system-wide benefits of\u00a0the prompt and effective\u00a0management of Chronic Victimosis\u00a0are\u00a0enormous. There is more reflective\u00a0consideration and more effective action. There is success and\u00a0celebration where before there was failure and frustration. The\u00a0success stimulates natural release of more <em>Positivicillin<\/em> which\u00a0builds a positive reinforcement feedback loop.\u00a0 In addition the other GA-memes become\u00a0progressively switched off and the\u00a0signs of <em>Passive Persecutitis<\/em> and\u00a0<em>Reactive Rescuopathy resolve.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The combined effect leads to the release of <em>Curiositonin<\/em>, the natural inquisitiveness hormone, and <em>Excitaline<\/em> &#8211; the\u00a0hormone that causes the\u00a0addictive feeling of eager anticipation. The racing heart and the dry mouth.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">From then on the\u00a0ex-patient is able to maintain their emotional balance, to further develop their emotional\u00a0resilience, and to assist other sufferers.\u00a0\u00a0And that is\u00a0a win for everyone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of the commonest psycho-socio-economic diseases is Victimosis.
